This is me:

I am a non-binary femme (sometimes?). I am Black, and Caribbean – both at the same time and individually. I consider my Jamaican identity to be something beautiful and special that flows into the tapestry of Blackness but is strong and distinct and I recognize it as such. I am queer in many interpretations of the word. Perhaps, because of this, I love politics and community organizing and working towards better models of political change and community care - the work I do professionally is oriented around these goals. I have an MA in International Affairs with a Specialisation in Conflict and Conflict Management from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and over 7 years of experience working with nonprofits, government, corporations and student organisations.

I love beautiful things and soft things. I love sunlight streaming through my window and the sound of my cat’s meows at my bedroom door. I love baking and reading (especially speculative fiction) and taking naps outside. I deeply resent the fact that I live in a place that limits that experience to four out of twelve months. I love interior decorating, and when it’s kind – I love academia. For as long as I can remember I have loved to write, and paint and sketch, and think about better ways of being - and I am grateful that they have always loved me back.
